I have thought of this before myself. Certainly for economic and other non-military issues a referendum would be superior to having lying politicians deciding questions. Of course the general public cannot be made privy to all the information that say the president has as that would tip off our enemies. It would be interesting...perhaps congress can designate which issues will be handled this way? I'd love to vote against things like the no-bid contracts and the ';bridge to nowhere';. Mistakes will still be made however, look who the ';uninformed and idiotic'; put in the WH. ;-)USA how many legal citizens want direct rule %26amp; control in legislation VS Corrupt representative government?
After reading items posted on Yahoo answers and other open web sites, the last thing the US needs is direct democracy. Our representative system is working fine, and serves as a great filter of the uninformed and idiotic.
You must have a do nothing waste your time government job or hurry up %26amp; wait game plan! I don't have time for this %26amp; neither will anyone else!
And - that's my Best Answer, too - so take that, moron!
Mob rule? That was exactly what the founders were trying to prevent when they formed the representative Constitution.
