What does it mean in regards to CAR Stereo CD players of ipod direct control?

I have seen Ipod ready and ipod direct control. What is the difference?

I believe that ipod direct control lets you control your ipod from your head unit...you plug your ipod to your head unit...and you can switch songs from your head unit....and ipod ready the only thing you can control from your head unit is the volume....you still have to change songs from your ipodWhat does it mean in regards to CAR Stereo CD players of ipod direct control?
Ipod direct means that you will be able to control your ipod through the head unit with the cd player right out of the box. Ipod ready means that you have the ability to control your ipod through your head unit if you buy an additional part. Without this part you will not be able to control your ipod at all.
