How can I show Device Manager as a direct shortcut in Windows XP Control Panel?

I would like to access Device Manager directly, without going through System%26gt;System Properties%26gt;Hardware%26gt;Device Manager rigmarole. Can I place a direct shortcut to DM in XP's Control Panel? How can I show Device Manager as a direct shortcut in Windows XP Control Panel?
I don't think you can, because the icons in Control Panel are a result of enumerating .cpl files, and there is no .cpl file specifically for Device Manager. (.cpl files are basically .dll's with particular requirements on entry points and icons)

However if you make a shortcut for devmgmt.msc you can put that shortcut on your desktop or anywhere else.

Just fyi, ';computer management';, aka ';manage'; from right-clicking ';My Computer';, is compmgmt.msc. You can get to device manager from there, too. ';Disk manager'; is diskmgmt.msc. You can find other .msc's in \windows\system32.

Alternately, you can use Windows-R and type devmgmt.msc into the Run prompt.. The Run prompt remembers the last few things you start that way and Device Manager is never out of the list on my machines. :)
